Lisa — legal name Lalisa Manobal, born Pranpriya Manobal — was born on March 27, 1997, in Buriram Province, Thailand, and attended Praphamontree School before training with YG Entertainment and debuting with BLACKPINK in 2016.

She released her debut solo single album Lalisa on September 10, 2021; its title track broke YouTube's 24-hour record for views by a solo artist, and the B-side "Money" became the first K-pop solo song to reach one billion Spotify streams. In June 2024 she released "Rockstar," which reached number one on the Billboard Global Excl. US chart, and in February 2025 released her debut solo studio album Alter Ego, which debuted at number seven on the Billboard 200. She also made her acting debut that month in the third season of HBO's The White Lotus.
