Kim Ji-soo was born on January 3, 1995, in Gunpo, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, and trained at the School of Performing Arts Seoul before debuting with BLACKPINK in August 2016.

She released her debut solo single album Me on March 31, 2023, led by the single "FLOWER," and followed it with the EP Amortage in February 2025, led by "Earthquake." In October 2025 she released the collaboration single "Eyes Closed" with Zayn.

Alongside music, she has built an acting career, starring in the JTBC series Snowdrop (2021–2022), taking a cameo role in the film Dr. Cheon and Lost Talisman (2023), and leading the series Newtopia and making her film debut in Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy in 2025.
